DataStamp

Data and Legal Policy

Effective date: May 2026

DataStamp is designed as a local-first timestamp proof app with no central account, no advertising, no analytics backend, and no cross-app tracking.

Data handled by the app

DataStamp may process text, photos, files, filenames, hashes, folders, tags, and timestamp proof metadata that you choose to add to the app. This information is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, the app may sync records through your own private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit.

OpenTimestamps and network requests

To create, upgrade, or verify timestamp proofs, DataStamp may contact OpenTimestamps calendar services and related verification endpoints. DataStamp hashes content locally before creating proofs. The app is designed to work with hashes and proof data rather than uploading your original private document as the timestamp payload.

Camera, Photos, and Files

DataStamp requests camera, photo library, and file access only when you choose to timestamp or verify content from those sources.

Data collection by the developer

The developer does not operate a central DataStamp account system, analytics backend, advertising network, or user-tracking service. The developer does not collect personal data from DataStamp and does not track users across apps or websites.
